calendar page November - de stempelwinkel

Hi and good morning to you ...

Now we're already welcoming - well, some more, some less - November.
My personal memories related to this month aren't that happy, chilblains, illness, death, darkness ... but perhaps exactly for this reason my page turned out quite colourful :-)
I hardly used any stamps this time but concentrated on the colours all the more.
It's my turn over at the de stempelwinkel designteam blog to share the monthly calendar page.

To see the full blog post please pay a visit at the de stempelwinkel designteam blog and have a look.
Have a great weekend everyyone,

Art Journal spread 'time' - de stempelwinkel

Hi and good morning all ...
Today I'm sharing an Art Journal spread over on the de stempelwinkel designteam blog.
I wanted to use my new gorgeous art doll 'time' stamp and loooked for a quote on the web.
I love this one:
The time you enjoy wasting is no wasted time. It's by Bertrand Russell and I feel it fits especially us crafty people as well as introverts and/or HSP :-) So three birds with one stone.
I hope you'll pay a visit to de stempelwinkel designteam blog and will enjoy it a bit. Please stop by there any other day to see what my awesome fellow DT members are up to.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend everyone

more leftovers still ... assembling scraps

Hi all,
I fell ill again - guess it was for too long that I've been well :-( and I'm only able to play around a little with some more scraps I dug up. So I decided to make this a more frequent thing (if not regular) together with those cards I already made now and then for the last weeks.

found: the background with the pattern stamps and the word 'industrial' (some patterned paper, gessoed up and stamped, if I recall correctly), piece of a butterly wing, cut out girl, gelli printed washi tape.
added: the steampunk machine Stempelwinkel image SW R12102, the red gelli collage elements (leftovers from my Mother's day card), the eye (from an I*EA TAG, colored with a wash of acrylic ink).

found:
the background (sprayed with Dylusion sprays, water and a letter stencil), piece of a gelli print, scrap from a die cut TH weathered clock.
added: Stampotique stamp - heat embossed with white ep, scrap is colored with distress stain black soot, Dylusion stamps leaves, words, some of the leaves are colored in slightly with neocolor II wax crayons.

Lia, the kindest and most wonderful owner of the Dutch stamp and mixed media shop de Craftorij and her very busy and creative team have set up a Facebook group some time ago, where the teamies have several mini challenges and other stuff going on. Much worth visiting, I'm highly recommending it.
The second card is for the Tuesday mini (Stampotique) challenge, run by Coby van Willigenburg, which this time is: use just one stencil (and at least one Stampotique image) - it's the letter stencil in the background you can hardly recognise :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look.
Have a good time everyone.

backgrounds in process

Hi and good morning to you.
To keep my blog from looking abandoned :-)
I'm sharing two backgrounds in process today:

They are made on canvas, the first one with gesso and acrylic ink as a resist - plus Dylusion sprays, the second one was primed with gesso, sprayed with acrylic ink and gessoed again.
With the first one I got a few steps farther in the meantime, the second one is lying there, waiting for some more time and inspiration :-D

And in case you're interested - some things I purchased last week in order to alter at some point ;-)
(my box of stuff to alter is overflowing *sighs* but there are so many things I simply can't pass by ...)
Have a wonderful day and a quiet week everyone.

blue - poems

so far the hints.
I've been asked to make a birthday card for a person I don't know.
The background is made with Dylusion sprays and some inka gold turqoise sponged through a stencil. Then I stamped the script with versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. At last I spritzed a little glimmer mist pearl onto the background.
Stamps are by de stempelwinkel, impressions obsessions, cherry pie

Thank you so very much for your visit.

just a quick TAG ...

to share today that I made among some other projects.
The background (clean off TAG from gelli prints - what else LOL) lay around for a while. I used one of the Andy Skinner stencils along with my new art anthology paint, outlined it with black acrylic paint and added the sentiment by Dyan Reaveley. You can hardly recognize it - in the bottom left there's a heat embossed broom (paper artsy/hot picks). Et voilà.

---------------------------

Thanks for having a peek.

repost: some things are better rich ...

I made a little canvas which didn't turn out too well at the first attempt, but now since I changed some little things here and there I like it a bit better. It's only my second one so please bear with me ;-)

I recycled the canvas, it was an ugly reminder of my very short lived paper napkin attempts LOL
After I thoroughly gessoed it I put some modelling paste through a few stencils, then sprayed it over. The background is a mix of dylusion sprays and colorwash. The words are stamped on a paper coloured with the wrinkle free distress technique, the images stamped, cut out and adhered with 3d pads.

All stamps are by indigo blu, I used grand tour I, pomp and pageantry, and brideshead.
I'm entering this into the indigo blu challenge 'words and phrases'. To see details please have a look at their blog.

It's also my contribution to the crafty boots challenge where Gabrielle chose the theme 'recycle'
as well as to the Artistic Stamper April challenge which is 'texture'.

Love the texture here:

Thanks so much for having a look.

gelli print scraps

Today I've been able to make a few little pieces just so I won't get rusty completely.
I wanted to try how you can use scraps of gelli prints as additional elements on cards and such.

Firstly a small TAG using a scrap with a T.H. border stamp and a piece of paper I die cut with the washer die and used as a template on a gelli print. The image is T.H. too, thanks to my blogfriend Mark. I cut it out and dipped it into some water with AAI, you can hardly recognise the colors, though.

Then two cards - I heat embossed T.H. background stamps on a piece of cardstock and sprayed them over with dylusion sprays. The dragonfly is stamped onto a background sprayed with dye by Lindy's stamp gang and cut out. Unfortunately the pics don't catch the gorgeous shimmer ...
The get well stamp is by darkroomdoor.

I'm also entering those into Carolin Dube's gelli print party. She has decided to go on with her party and start a new round each month.

Thank you ever so much for looking.
Have a great weekend all of you ...

just random stamps ...

yes, it's a card again.
I love these cards that just develop without thinking and with stamps that are lying around.
This is one of them:

stamps: katzelkraft (monkey), paper artsy.
background: dylusion sprays.

Thanks for looking.

halloween fashionista

slowly recovering after more than a week in bed ...
boringboringboring

hopefully a better pic tomorrow with daylight.

stamps: dina wakley (black embossed), inkadinkado, de stempelwinkel. Sadly the skull is a little big .. :-)

the background is a wild and spontanous mix of dylusion sprays, colorwash, distress stain picket fence, smears of paint dabber silver metallic, pan pastel white and somewhere underneath there must be a cover-a-card stamp with versamark ...
the flock of bats on the left is loosely sprinkled with some embossing powder black with a little glitter of white and red.

thanks for stopping by.
hugs, suzanne xx

will be able to catch up over the weekend, i hope.

don't let it get you down

... use your wings and fly.

This TAG for the Art Journey challenge #25 'wings' just flowed out of my head - and my past life. But I won't go into detail here :-)
I'm always surprised by the magic of those Dylusion Sprays ... when I begin, I nearly every time am convinced this is never going to work ... but then in the end - it does :-)
The woman is a leftover from another project, the fish appeared out of nowhere and the masking tape was still on the table among the other things I didn't get around yet to stow away.

Let's see if I remember all the gorgeous Art Journey stamps I used (I'm so lucky to own several of these beautiful stamp plates :-)):
The woman is of the plate 'lady clock', the fish: 'fish' :-), the branch and the eye: 'men', the rose in the background, very hard to recognise: 'beautiful roses', fly away and hope: 'pages'.
The wing is stamped on acetate, colored with alcohol inks, behind the lady is a piece of tissue paper, sprayed with glimmer mist and stamped with beautiful roses, again, hard to see.

Thanks for stopping by.

Halloween in Green ...

On the blog of the adorably talented Tracy Evans I spotted an absolute stunning card with a background from green Dylusion Sprays. While I had my Stampotiques out for some reason I played a little bit around with those sprays and stamps ...
Of course the results are only a pale imitation ;-) but I had great fun! :-))

Stamps: Stampotique, Paper Artsy Hot Pick (bats, bottle), Katzelkraft (clockface), de Stempelwinkel (skull)
The skull is a template I got at the 'Mekka' stamp fair, it's by Lost Coast Design.
Stamps: Hot pick (October 31st), Chocolate Baroque (sentiment), Hot Pick (skull border).
For the bat I glued some cut outs together and coated them with glossy after I dotted the eyes with red stickles.
Stamps: Hot Picks (October 31st, tree), Stampotique.

The splatters are by Tim Holtz.

Thanks so much for stopping by

farewell cards ...

for a couple that worked in our local ice cream parlour for many years.
Those humble cards do them by no means any justice ... but I wanted to give them a personal gift.
Wherever they'll go ... I hope they'll remember the coffee-crowd from time to time ...
*fightsbacktears*

for her

Stamps: Dina Wakley, Tim Holtz, de Stempelwinkel

for him

Stamps: Hero Arts, Art Journey, Indigo Blu, Tim Holtz, Inkadinkado, Katzelkraft.

I'm going to miss them dearly ...

Thanks for having a peek
