Mail Art Swap

Initiated by the Art Journey Challenge 'Mail Art Envelopes' some time ago I did mailart swaps with two very versatile and talented ladies: Alie and Tera.

Please have a look at the most wonderful and gorgeous mail art I got from these inspiring ladies

from Alie:
this beautifully colored and stamped envelope
plus one of her famous most wonderful and bright TAGs

and from Tera I got this most elaborate and artful envelope
front and back

 and a fabulous matching card
I thank you so very much ladies, it has been such great fun to create my envelopes and to swap with you.

I'd so love to do more swaps at some point, mailart, TAGs, ATCs ... whatever. Love this.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a quiet week ..

stamped stuff and an altered calendar - very picture-heavy post

Hi all :-)
I'm apologizing in advance because this is going to be - very atypical for me :-D - a picture-heavy post.

First I'm sharing a bunch of cards and a TAG I did last week. Another coworker's birthday is around the corner and after I absolutely didn't have any idea the first day I made four simultaneously and had to concentrate to not mix up my ideas :-) but hey, I think even that would have been interesting.
First up the two blue ones I shared over at de stempelwinkel designteam blog:

And those are the two other cards I made to choose from:

Two cards and a TAG I made and sent off resp. gave away:

another TAG:
and last but not least a calendar I bought the other day - before and after:

Thank you so very much for taking the time for a visit and your patience with all my pics.
I hope you will understand that I don't have the time at the  moment to give the details on each make. If you have a specific question or just want to know how one of these was made please leave me a comment or use my email-address in the profile - thanks so much.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Mail Art Envelope

Second post for today - thanks for bearing with me :-)
After quite some time I'm happy to join the Art Journey Challenge again, one of my favorite challenges.
This time the gorgeously talented DT asks for mail art envelopes and I made two pieces.

For the first one I cut a few freehand clouds and masked them as well as a piece of paper to keep the space for the address clear. The background was sponged with several distress ink pads, trying to blend the colors together. Then I stamped various AJ stamps onto it and colored them lightly with watercolor pencils.

For the second one - with matching postcard - I used the gelli printing plate and a few stencils to create the background. Then here too several of those adorable AJ images were stamped, they have stunning steampunk stamps among others. I used watercolor pencils on those too to give the images a bit of color.

Thanks a bunch for taking the time and stopping by. Have a lovely day all of you, sun is shining around here and I really hope it will stay a bit.

the winner iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis ...

this morning my little one has drawn a winner.
Since I've been alone today I took the chance to make some minor changes as long as husband has been away *eg* i.e. ripping an ancient mini fridge (from the former owner of the house) out of its hole,  driving to the recycling depot to dump it, visiting a certain Swedish furniture shop and getting two small shelves to replace the fridge (came out of it with a cash slip of less than 100€ LOL), and have some room for my stamps :-D
That's why I'm posting this only now.

Okay, little redhaired devil in action
You didn't really think I'd show a full pic of my child, did you? :-D
(In case you're wondering why I asked her to draw a winner: I simply don't get this random org thing.)
She drew ..........................

tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

My heartfelt congratulations for the win, dear Carmen!!
I still have your address and will post it off on Monday.

a bonus pic of the little Perry fan ;-)

Have a wonderful weekend all of you and thanks so much for joining in.

WOYWW #220 - rust

Hello peeps from all over the world. Welcome to my messy desk :-) therefore just a small snippet today.
If you hop over to Julia Dunnit's blog you can learn everything about WOYWW and what I'm talking about.

I bought some powder recently to create a rusty effect. It looked great on the samples in the shop and now I'm experimenting. These are pieces in different stages.
On the left you can see some awesome goodies my blogfriend Mark sent me - thanks so very much!! x I adore every single piece ... a beautiful script stencil, a stunning TAG (I remember seeing this on the HDH challenge blog but it looks even better irl), a very pretty radiant ATC and a domino brooch. I immediately attached it to my bagpack and only took it off for the pic :-) And a gorgeous keyring pendant I still have to find a place for.
Here you can have a closer look at the rusty things:

This is the first piece I made (based on a piece of mountboard Mark sent me too) - I like this one best. Of course I've not been able to catch the real colors in the pics but this one looks closest to the real thing.

The second piece, based on a playing card:

Not bad but not what I hoped for either. To be honest I don't even know what I did different this time ... perhaps a bit less of the powder ...

And I tried a few cogs from cardboard and a clock piece from grungeboard:

Well, that's all for today. Thank you ever so much for visiting and have a great day.
I'm off to snoop around other people's desks :-D

Mail Art?

Posted off one of my gelli envelopes today after stencilling cornflowers onto it :-)

And I forgot to share this card I made for a coworker's birthday last week:

The background is made with T.H. kraft paper/distress stains spiced marmelade and paper from the 'engraver' series by prima marketing. I used the T.H. die 'torn notebook'. Stamps are by crafty individuals (CI-323), indigo blu, paper artsy/hot picks, can't remember who the ballon is from ... in the right corner at the bottom is a button cut from the T.H. sewing room die and embossed with thick embossing powder. At last I stamped a script stamp into it.

I'm linking this up to the Crafty Individuals Challenge which is 'anything goes' (with at least one CI product)this month.

Thanks so much for visiting.

me too, now ...

my last blogpost for this year.

The last quarter of 2012 has mostly been a bad and lousy one for me, ups and downs, more of the latter. I'm only too glad when this year finally comes to an end. Sadly I can't tell you nicer things.
But still of course I'm optimistic that all things will get much better very soon :-)

I hope you're all very well (again) and well prepared for the final spurt ...

I want to say a huge THANK YOU to all my dear blogfriends, visitors, and those who posted such very nice and frequent comments on my blog.

Thank you for another year of great inspiration, contacts and concern.
Thank you for lots and lots of great challenges and many chances to learn and experiment with new things.
Thank you for just being out there ...

Now this is nearly all I got around to do for Christmas

I wish all of you a Merry Christmas/'Creepmas' :-), a few wonderful days with whomever you want to spend time and many other sincerest and best wishes for a wonderful, healthy, peaceful ... crafty 2013!

See you soon ...

Big hugs, Suzanne xxx
