a birthday card again - allow us to congratulate you
A week ago I've been at a crafty - and chatty - get together and had lots of fun :-D
And I only got one single card done. Good or bad sign? ;-) I take it as a good sign, I definitely enjoyed being there.
I got the chance to use some great Stampotique images and the guy who got the card knows me and my sense of humour quite well. We shared a life changing time - no, nothing relationship-ish, something completely different.
Some of you have already seen it on FB:

To be honest I can't remember how exactly I did the background. I think a bit of gelli print and some tinted modeling paste may have been involved. The collage elements have been stamped on different gelli prints and fuzzy cut, the Stampotique images were fuzzy cut too and colored in with distress ink pads and a waterbrush.
Thanks so very much for stopping by today and have a great Sunday everyone.

sometimes it pays off to have a closer look .../TAG - de Stempelwinkel
Hi and hello everyone ... I hope you are well, wherever you are.
It's my turn again over at de stempelwinkel designteam blog and this time I made a TAG with my absolutely stunning new stamps. I think they're very versatile, I have a few things in mind for future projects at least :-)
To be honest I completely forgot that it's my turn today because of the madhouse I have at home these days, so I made this quite quickly this morning before I went to work between getting the kids ready for school and kindergarten and having my dose of caffeine.
Please hop over to de stempelwinkel designteam blog and have a look at all the gorgeous arty projects my teamies come up with.
Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look. Have a great day.

another bookmark
For the swap mentioned in the post below I made another 'unusual' bookmark.
My very talented friend Anne once sent me a few of those die cuts from Tim Holtz' picture wheel die. Until now I had no idea how I could use them appropriately. When the idea to swap unusual bookmarks came up in a forum I knew what to do with one of them ;-)
I used the 'wrinkle free distress' technique on it with different shades of brown distress ink and sponged the edges with walnut stain DI. Then I cut a T.H. filmstrip in pieces and glued them to the open areas with glossy accents (uh, you have to be really patient wit this :-D). At last I glued a piece of design paper behind the wheel and added some twine.
Since it's supposed to be a bookmark you can really use there aren't any additional embellishments.
I'm linking this up to the very first challenge of a Vintage Journey where the theme is 'anything Tim'.
Thank you so very much for stopping by and I wish you a great weekend.
Hugs, Suzanne xxx

rooster
Hello everyone ...
I bought a plate with steampunk birds from chocolate baroque recently and thought about what I could do with the rooster.
This is what I came up with
For the background I colored a piece of fabric with acrylic inks. Then I stamped some images from the chocolate baroque steampunk flowers and heat embossed then with clear powder, it's hardly to see.
Mr rooster was stamped separately on white cardstock and colored with various distress inks and a waterbrush pen. The cogs are heat embossed with black powder and from T.H. The words are from the birds plate too, stamped on a scrap of the fabric and glued down.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Freunde / friends
Ein bescheidenes Kärtchen, womit ich etwas kürzlich Gelesenes ausprobiert habe.
Just a little card I tried something out with.
I made another one with this background technique but I can't show it yet, it's supposed to be a birthday surprise :-)
stamps I used: crafty individuals (center image), acapella (newspaper and measuring tape), Tim Holtz, of course (butterflies) and artistic outpost (balloon).
The CI stamp is one of my very first ones.
Thanks for stopping by

All stamps by ArtJourney except for the sentiment which is from Darkroomdoor.
thanks for looking
