canvas and canvas board

Hi all ...
A few of you probably know I'm kind of obsessed with backgrounds. Obsessed, because I don't seem to get them done to my satisfaction, no matter how many tutorials I'm watching.
This time I dabbled with a canvas and a canvas board. The board was a gift for my son who really loves it - or so he says :-) the canvas is just for practising. I have to say the backgrounds surprisingly turned out better than I hoped for - although, to my greatest astonishment, a bit of ... ahem ... *shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhht* pink-ish showed up ...

Hi all ...
I know, it's very quiet on my side. That makes me so sad, I'd so love to do/create more and above all more of the makes that I feel comfortable showing. There are no specific reasons, sadly just because. From time to time I'm retreating into my 'hermit crab-mode' and there's no way telling for how long this is going to last.
Anyway, as you can see in the sidebar I'm an adventurer on Wanderlust and I had a try at a round mixed media canvas I'm sharing with you (I won't tell how much time it took me :-P):

At first I didn't think I could do this but I like the result :-)
No stamps this time ...

destruction - canvas

Hello to all my lovely followers and visitors *waves*

Some of you may remember the canvas I started and which I shared in my post for WOYWW a few days ago. I experimented some more and this is the result:

Forgot to add a breathing tube to the deep sea diver, I'll fix that :-D
As you know I don't share private things here on my blog. Suffice it to say that this is 'inspired' by events and feelings I experienced recently. But don't worry, I'm okay so far :-)
I'm just glad that I had enough time to make something for myself only for a change. It helped a lot :-D I really don't know what to do with it. but that's okay.

and two not-so-matching cards :-D
Here in Germany mother's day is tomorrow. I made two cards and a canvas - with the gelli plate, of course.
Since we have only my mother left of her genaration I only will send one of them but don't know yet which one it will be.
My Mom loves blue/green/turqoise.

The stamp and the die cut heart are by Tim Holtz. I used the die cut hearts as a stencil resp. stamp on all backgrounds.

The backgrounds are gelli prints. For this one I added an arrow with a screw brad. The heart is stamped on a piece of vellum, coloured with panpastel (on the back) and attached with staples.

This heart is stamped on tissue paper, coloured with pan pastels and covered with glossy accents. It's a bit uneven because I crumpled the tissue paper. You can't really see it: I also pulled a print with the tissue paper. Then I tore it into a strip and adhered it onto the background.
The nut is a pun/kind of teapot-thing :-D it's also called 'Mutter'/mother in German.

repost: some things are better rich ...

I made a little canvas which didn't turn out too well at the first attempt, but now since I changed some little things here and there I like it a bit better. It's only my second one so please bear with me ;-)

I recycled the canvas, it was an ugly reminder of my very short lived paper napkin attempts LOL
After I thoroughly gessoed it I put some modelling paste through a few stencils, then sprayed it over. The background is a mix of dylusion sprays and colorwash. The words are stamped on a paper coloured with the wrinkle free distress technique, the images stamped, cut out and adhered with 3d pads.

All stamps are by indigo blu, I used grand tour I, pomp and pageantry, and brideshead.
I'm entering this into the indigo blu challenge 'words and phrases'. To see details please have a look at their blog.

It's also my contribution to the crafty boots challenge where Gabrielle chose the theme 'recycle'
as well as to the Artistic Stamper April challenge which is 'texture'.

Zweitbenutzung eines kleinen Keilrahmens, eine unangenehme Erinnerung an meine sehr kurzlebige Serviettentechnik-Phase LOL 
Dick Gesso drüber und ein bisschen Modellierpaste durch Schablonen gedrückt. Dann den HG besprüht mit Dylusions und Colorwash; die Stempel extra abgedrückt, ausgeschnitten und mit Abstandsklebern aufgebracht, die Wörter auf ein Papier eingefärbt mit Distress Ink gestempelt und aufgeklebt.
