just another card ...
It was supposed to be for someone's birthday but I think I got carried away a bit ... LOL
It's not too suitable for 'mainstream', is it? Don't know ... anyway.
This is the background before
and this is how it turned out in the end:
The background is a piece of corrugated cardboard covered with a coat of gesso, then treated with moon shadow spray by Lindy's stamp gang, dylusion spray cut grass, colorwash lettuce and meadow. Afterwards I used some acrylic paints and my small gelli plate to add the piece of brickwall, a few numbers and a bit of a diamond pattern which is hardly visible.
The stamp is by Dina Wakley (stamped on paper colored with distress paint bundled sage and victorian velvet (just on a side note: does anyone have an idea why my paints don't flow like Tim's in his demo vid?) with wings by lost coast design I think. The sentiment is by studio 490, stamped on a piece of paper I rolled the paint off my brayer with.
Thanks for looking.
Hugs, Suzanne xxx

Wow Suzanne, what an amazing background, I love corrugated card but could never get it to look this good! Really love this. I can only think that you need to shake them more, I find it best to shake it until you hear the ball moving well inside the container. Hope that helps. Hugs, Anne x

ReplyDeleteGorgeous creation, the background is awesome and so is the coloring!
ReplyDeletePs, i dont know if you like it but i awarded you, see my blog, greetings karin,
I love this card the colours are great.
ReplyDeleteAre you using the distress paints?
if not, that's the reason, they are a lot thinner than normal acrylic paints, they have no 'filler' in their make up, they are like a colour intense wash for want of a better explination, if you want the same results with normal acrylic just add water ;)
Love this Suzanne, these wings fit really well with the Dina stamp. Can't help you with the Tim paints I'm afraid, I've still managed to resist them :-) xx
